Sandipan is a consummate entrepreneur and is deeply committed to the cause of renewable energy. He brings a wealth of experience in starting and building businesses. He started Staten Solar after selling his prior venture Knowlent Corporation in 2008. Knowlent was a venture-funded company and offered unique verification solutions for Analog Designers. Sandipan served as its CEO for over six years until the merger. Sandipan has had a varied career spanning over 20 years in the high tech industry. During his career, Mr. Bhanot has led various engineering, marketing, and sales functions at top-tier companies. Before founding Knowlent in 2001, he was the senior product manager for the $300M annual Silicon Ensemble product line at Cadence Design Systems. In that role, he closely orchestrated the rollout of the industry's first preventative signal-integrity solution that included putting in place the necessary support infrastructure in the industry. Before Cadence, he worked at Synopsys, Hewlett-Packard and Semiconductor Complex Ltd, India.

Sandipan is based in Silicon Valley, California and is a Charter Member of TiE and an active mentor/advisor to many start ups and entrepreneurs. He holds an MBA from UC Berkeley, California and a B Tech from Institute of Technology, Varanasi.
